How to convert an image to an .ico icon

  2. Choose the shape (square, rounded or circle), whether to fill the square or fit the whole picture, and add padding or a background colour if you like.
  3. Click Download .ico for a Windows icon, or Download all sizes for a zip with favicon.ico, PNG icons up to 512 px and the HTML tags for your website.

Tip: Windows uses the 16, 32 and 48 px sizes in Explorer and the taskbar, and 256 px for large icons. Check the small previews to make sure your icon is still clear at 16 px.

How to remove the background from a photo

  1. Drop a photo into the box above. The AI finds the person and cuts them out; the first run downloads the AI model (about 7 MB) once.
  2. Choose Transparent for a PNG cut-out, Colour for a plain background such as white for passport-style or profile photos, Blur for a portrait look, or New picture to put the person on another background.
  3. Click Download. Transparent results save as PNG, the others as JPG.

How to resize a picture for social media

Are my images uploaded?

How do I convert a PNG or JPG to an .ico icon?

Drop the picture into the Image to Icon tool, choose square, rounded or circle, and download the .ico file. It contains 16, 24, 32, 48, 64, 128 and 256 pixel sizes, as Windows expects.

Can I remove the background from a photo for free?

Yes. The AI background remover cuts out the person, then you can keep the background transparent, fill it with a colour, blur it or replace it with another picture. It works best on photos of people.

Why does an AI tool take longer the first time?

The first time, your browser downloads the AI model (7 to 8 MB). After that it is cached and starts quickly.

What are the limits?

One image at a time, up to 15 MB. The photo enhancer works on images up to 800 pixels on the long side and the background remover up to 1600 pixels. There is no daily limit.
